Since the beginning of its operations, the value and importance of sports have been recognized as a highly effective way of bringing together young people, fostering a competitive spirit, and serving as an excellent form of promoting Croatia internationally.
Particularly noteworthy are some of the most successful partnerships, including the Handball Club Podravka, the most successful women’s handball club in history, and the Football Club Slaven Belupo, one of the longest-standing top-tier football clubs, which has also recorded numerous European appearances throughout its history.
The handball club RK Podravka is one of the most successful women’s sports clubs in Croatia and proudly carries the name Podravka, i.e. the company’s most recognizable brand.
Podravka has won 27 Croatian championship titles and 26 Croatian Cup titles. The club’s greatest success came in 1996, when it won the European Champions Cup and the Super Cup.
Podravka’s handball players are among the most recognizable ambassadors of the Podravka brand, and through their high-quality performances on the court, they consistently represent the company in an excellent light.
They also regularly participate in various activities, such as product promotions and social events with employees.
The football club NK Slaven Belupo is one of the longest-standing top-tier football clubs in Croatia and has played an important role in Croatian football for almost thirty years.
The club can also be proud of several notable seasons in which it finished near the top of the league table, as well as reaching the Croatian Cup final on three occasions.
Additionally, Slaven Belupo players have participated in the so-called European matches on several occasions, with some well-known names from the European football scene having played in Koprivnica.
Like the Podravka handball players, Slaven Belupo footballers are among the most recognizable ambassadors of the Podravka Group and are always ready to engage in social events and meet with employees.
Croatian handball has a long and successful history, which is overseen by the Croatian Handball Federation.
The origins of the Federation date back to 1948. On 19 December 1948, a group of handball enthusiasts founded the Handball Federation of Croatia in Zagreb, which supported and developed the sport until 1992, when Croatia became an independent and sovereign state. With these changes, it was renamed the Croatian Handball Federation (CHF).
The CHF became a member of the International Handball Federation (IHF) on 10 April 1992, and gained membership in the European Handball Federation (EHF) on 23 July 1992.
