Podravka begins preparations for pharmaceutical and chemical production, creating the prerequisites for entering a new strategic business area.

The first modern pharmaceutical factory is built.

The first Belupo pharmaceutical factory is commissioned in the autumn of 1972 in Ludbreg.

Rapid development and expansion of production programs lead to the construction of a new factory in Koprivnica, which remains the company’s headquarters today.

With the new pharmaceutical factory at Danica in 1981, a new development period for Belupo begins. In the 1980s, the introduction of cosmetics manufacturing was an important innovation in Belupo’s production program.

In 1982, Belupo offered a wide range of finished medicines for export. The necessary conditions were created for more modern production and an expanded portfolio of human and veterinary medicines.

Belupo marked its 25^th anniversary with continuous production growth, strong business results, and ambitious development plans.

The construction of a new 7,000 m² solid dosage forms factory represented the largest facility in Belupo’s pharmaceutical complex, which totals 15,000 m².

The plant enables a fully continuous production process, ensuring the flow of materials and workers through physically connected spaces, making it unique in this part of Europe.

A factory for semi-solid and liquid dosage forms was built on 2,035 m². At the time, it was the most modern facility and it represented a response to the challenges of the globalized market. Of the total area, 1,760 m² consists of clean rooms. Production fully complies with GMP standards and FDA regulations, with an annual capacity of 50 million packages.

A 2,400 m² quality control and assurance facility was built. By integrating the microbiological laboratory and research and quality control departments, efficiency was ensured in key functions for product quality and development.

Establishment of the pharmacy institution DELTIS pharm (11 pharmacy units).

Acquisition of a majority stake in Farmavita.

Belupo awarded the “Golden Key” for the best Croatian exporter to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

For the fifth consecutive time, Belupo won the crystal statue and Selectio Group’s Employer Partner certificate.

For the third consecutive time, Neofen was named a winning brand in the Trusted Brands survey in the pain relief category.

Belupo expanded storage capacity for finished medicines.

A business model integrating nutrition and pharmaceuticals was developed, focusing on food with additional health benefits beyond basic nutritional value.

Representative offices were established in Poland, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.

Belupo received the Golden Kuna award for the most successful large company in the Koprivnica and Križevci County.

Farmavita was named the Most Desirable Employer by Development Studio and the Posao.ba portal.

The Ministry of Economy granted Belupo the status of beneficiary of incentive measures for the New Pharmaceutical Factory project.

Belupo was granted a wholesale pharmaceutical distribution license.

Farmavita opened a representative office in Priština, Kosovo.

The foundation stone was laid for a new plant for solid, semi-solid, and liquid dosage forms.

Lupocet received the Best Buy Award Health 2014/2015 in the headache relief category.

A cooperation agreement on scientific, professional, and educational activities was signed with the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, University of Zagreb.

A new business and warehouse facility of Farmavita was opened.

Belupo received a certificate of appreciation for supporting scientific work of the Croatian Academy of Medical Sciences.

Belupo received an award for continuous investment at the “Lider Invest” competition.

Belupo was awarded the A+ digital creditworthiness certificate for 2017.

Completion of a four-year construction project of Belupo’s solid, semi-solid, and liquid dosage form factories covering 20,608 m². The new factories represent the largest greenfield investment in Croatia, with more than 535 million kuna invested. The factories are equipped with state-of-the-art technology enabling the production of high-value-added medicines.

Belupo received the Golden Key award for the largest exporter to the Russian Federation in 2017.

Belupo and the Ruđer Bošković Institute signed a scientific and professional cooperation agreement.

Lider Invest 2018 awarded Belupo the best production investment in Croatia for 2017.

Serialization was introduced.

Belupo received the Golden Key for the largest exporter to the Russian Federation in 2018.

Belupo obtained ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 certifications.

Based on business performance criteria, Belupo was ranked among the top 2.37% of companies in Croatia and confirmed AAA creditworthiness excellence.

BELODIN A 10 mg tablets received the “Croatian Quality” label.

Belupo received the Platinum Creditworthiness Excellence Certificate.

The Srebrnjak Children’s Hospital, Belupo, and Podravka launched a joint research project to develop a personalized concept for reducing excess weight and maintaining healthy body mass in the treatment of chronic diseases in children and adults.

Belupo was issued an EU GMP certificate by HALMED.

Belupo received the IQVIA Pharmaceutical Market Forum Croatia 2023 award in the Commercial Performance category – best company in the OTC segment, with Lupocet highlighted as a leading OTC brand in Croatia.

Belupo received the Golden Kuna award for the most successful large company in the Koprivnica and Križevci County.

The over-the-counter product portfolio was expanded with a new dietary supplement line, BelVi.
