Some three hundred visitors came together on Saturday 29 April to the central square in Koprivnica to have their health checked under the slogan “Health Is Built by Heart” and remained there for the duration of Belupo’s public health initiative of 180 minutes.
Of all the tests available, visitors expressed most interest in intraocular pressure measurement – as many as 205 had it checked. This is around fifty more than last year. This year, two cases of intraocular hypertension were detected. In addition to intraocular pressure measurements in a mini-clinic, visitors were able to measure their blood glucose and lipid levels, have their blood pressure measured, check their skin status and assess their risk of osteoporosis. Mostly women aged 50 to 70 appeared for the tests. Of as many as ninety visitors, 75% had their blood pressure well under control. As regards lipids, one case was discovered with significantly elevated triglycerides (6.17). The osteoporosis risk assessment mini-clinic found a case of deep osteoporosis (-2.9). As many as nine visitors were found to have significantly elevated blood glucose levels (glycemia of 8-9 mmol/l).
Belupo presented its new solid, semi-solid and liquid dosage form factory. “The crucial reason for the launching of this greenfield investment was our strategic production planning, which in 2011 showed that Belupo would, if it maintains the estimated business growth, completely fill its production capacities by 2018,” said Hrvoje Kolarić, Belupo’s Chairman of the Management Board.
The new factory mostly appealed to the youngest ones who had the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in building a factory out of large jigsaw puzzle pieces. The fastest time was recorded for two Koprivnica’s girls, Domenika Božić and Paula Ferenčić, who won mini factory jigsaw puzzles and the awards were presented by Belupo’ Chairman of the Management Board.
Stand-up comedian Ivan Šarić used his humor to make everyone laugh, while new dance steps were demonstrated by the Jump dancing troupe, which has loyally followed Belupo’s events for years.
The fact that health is indeed built by the heart was confirmed by an increasing number of visitors in Koprivnica, who have been healthier and more aware of their health’s value year after year.
