Belupo's strategy is based on all aspects of corporate social responsibility, which undoubtedly affects our corporate efficacy and market position. From year to year, Belupo has supported the work of many health care, educational and cultural institutions, various sports clubs and individuals through sponsorships and donations. As a pharmaceutical company that invests in improving the health of people, the majority of Belupo's donations are directed towards health care institutions. In the past year, donations have been made in the amount of HRK 1,538,948.15. We also confirm our social responsibility through active participation in sport and as sponsor of the Koprivnica first league football club, Slaven-Belupo. As a socially responsible company, Belupo traditionally ends every business year with a series of charity events, and as a result, the hospital wards of many Croatian hospitals receive the necessary medical equipment. These are valuable donations that Belupo makes, as a strategic partner to the Croatian health care system, to help those who need it most – the sick and infirm. This year, Belupo has joined forces with the Red Cross to donate the necessary medications to the residents of those areas hit by record floods this past spring.
The corporate social responsibility in Belupo has contributed to our excellence in human resources management, our care for the health and safety of our employees in the workplace, the rapid adjustment of corporate, technological and social changes, building the brand, creating a positive company image, quality management, a recognisable relationship with business partners, suppliers and consumers, global concern for the environment, investing in the local community and more. Socially responsible activities on the markets we operate on concretely relate to what and how we manufacture, how we buy and sell, how we manage product quality control, protection of the environment, water and air, how we manage waste, whether we implement charity campaigns, donations and sponsorships. On the other hand, corporate social responsibility also contributes to a reduction in operative costs, particularly in measures aimed to implement cleaner production, and measures in the area of human resources.
